Our Philosophy
At Peterbuilt Boerboel, we believe in transparency and quality above all else. We welcome all serious buyers to visit our facilities and meet our dogs in person. We have nothing to hide and are proud of the conditions our dogs live in.
Every one of our Boerboels has 24/7 access to spacious yards, comfortable indoor spaces, and climate control. We believe happy, healthy dogs produce happy, healthy puppies.
Our breeding program focuses on temperament first, followed by health, functionality, and conformation. We research and source the best bloodlines from reputable breeders, with many of our dogs imported directly from South Africa, where the breed began. Our program carries the foundation genetics behind the breed's highest SABBS appraisals, documented dog by dog on our bloodlines page.
Meet the Breeders
Peterbuilt Boerboel is Derek and Mindy. We run the kennel ourselves here in Livingston, Texas: every litter is raised underfoot, every buyer talks directly to us, and when you visit, we are the ones showing you the dogs.
SABBS (the South African Boerboel Breeders' Society, the breed's original founding registry) is our primary registry, and we do our best to maintain their standards in all areas except color: we will not turn away an exceptional Boerboel over a non-standard coat. SABBS requires an appraisal of both parents before a Boerboel can be bred, with the senior appraiser scanning microchips and sending off DNA to verify parentage. We are SABBS member #0697860 and NABBR #20135344.
